The weather
Friday's predominant weather is forecast to be heavy rain
Saturday's predominant weather is forecast to be sunny
Sunday's predominant weather is forecast to be light rain
Monday's predominant weather is forecast to be heavy showers
Tuesday's predominant weather is forecast to be heavy rain

Oh well. In a fortnight I'll be heading to Linux.conf.au to discuss why suspend to disk doesn't work, can't be made to work in its current form and that everyone who thinks it currently does is under some form of mass delusion. Friday, 11:30. Be there or be listening to one of the other fine presentations that day. If it rains there, I may be upset.

Its amazing how many different ways we have to say, its going to rain... We have so many varying degrees of rain, many more than any other nation. Remember we also have, drizzle and "summer" rain among many many others.

I suppose by prefixing the word rain with a different word every time it doesn't sound quite as miserable as its gonna rain for the next week other than saturday, when it'll be sunny...

That time, San Diego also got more rain than many places inland within the county. It depends on the nature of the storm.

It looks like the only places that got more than a few drops were on Sunshine Highway leading up to Mounta Laguna, and on the back side of the mountains toward Shelter Valley.

Don't worry about it: in Melbourne, if you don't like the weather, you just need to wait fifteen minutes. It's a flat San Francisco, basically. Less of a gay community, more Italian restaurants, but basically that.

Oh, and while you're there, go check out the restaurants on Lygon and Brunswick Streets. Failure to do so is failure to experience Melbum as it should be experienced.

You'll be glad to know that it's just about perfect this morning; temperature in the 20s, light breeze, bright sunshine, etc...

Any chance of meeting up for a drink, say, whilst you're out here? I'm afraid I'm unlikely to make it to the meeting itself.

I suspect that there may be drinking, yes. Do you have an Australian mobile number? I'll probably try to pick up a SIM while I'm out there in order to avoid phone bill nightmares.
