✈❚❚.com is possibly the most entertainingly tasteless domain ever. I should really get round to registering things when I first think of them, rather than let other people get there first. Never mind, there's still ✈▐▐.com and a host of others.

I'm sort of surprised that the rfc 3492 people don't seem to have seen this coming.

You mean they should've blocked the ability to do this? That's just silly. Should they also block "airplane-into-two-buildings.com", "crash-into-two-towers.com", "level-the-two-towers.com", etc.. ?

Mostly. On the other hand, there's really no good reason for including the entire range of symbols in the acceptable subset of Unicode that Punycode uses. All the vertical block characters are pretty much visually indistinguishable but don't even get canonicalised to the same form. It's not an ideal situation for stuff that's not even going to get entered by hand in most cases.

Thanks to moray for suggesting: "apt-get install ttf-freefont" -- I can now see that domain name in all its sick, entertaining glory!

Also note that that font was broken for quite some time, and the NMU to fix it just went in today. Be sure to upgrade.
